Navigating Change and Embracing the Unknown

Writer's picture: Robin WiltRobin Wilt

Change can be seriously intimidating. Even when we’re unhappy with something in our lives, we often cling to it because it feels familiar. So, when the possibility of change arises, our ego tends to go into overdrive, shouting, "But what if it gets worse?!" But if we take a step back and look at it objectively, it’s understandable. Change requires us to leap into the unknown. We hope things will improve, but the transition can feel like ripping off a bandaid — brief pain to start the healing process.

We’re only three weeks into the new year, and already, I’ve seen so many people wrestling with this. Honestly, I’ve experienced it in my own life repeatedly. I’m not naturally someone who jumps into change easily. Building bravery and learning to trust myself has been a process. Recently, I’ve faced decisions that felt hard in the moment, but I know that the life I desire is on the other side of the fear trying to hold me back.

Let’s explore this together, and I’ll share some tools to help you navigate change. But first, let’s set the scene by looking at the energy we’re moving through right now.

Where We Are Energetically

Winter: A Season of Introspection

We’re smack dab in the middle of winter, a season that naturally calls us inward. It’s a time to reflect, reevaluate, and confront the parts of our lives that no longer nourish us. Nature is our biggest teacher here; she’s resting, slowing down, and preparing for renewal. Similarly, we’re being asked to pause, feel, and reassess.

2025: A 9 Year in Numerology

This year carries the energy of endings, as the number 9 represents completion and release. It’s a time to let go of what no longer serves us, clearing space for new beginnings. While this doesn’t mean everything will come to an end, it does encourage us to release what we’ve been avoiding or holding onto for too long.

Year of the Snake in Chinese Astrology

In Chinese astrology, the Snake represents transformation and shedding old skin. This energy encourages us to release outdated versions of ourselves and embrace growth. It’s about letting go of what once worked but no longer serves our highest good.

With all this introspective and transformative energy, it makes sense that many of us feel both the pull toward change and the discomfort that comes with it.

Signs Fear Might Be Holding You Back

Fear can manifest in sneaky ways when we’re on the cusp of change. Here are some common signs:

Physical Symptoms

  • Anxiety or restlessness

  • Difficulty sleeping

  • Headaches, stomach issues, or back pain

  • Feeling panicky or off balance

Our bodies often reflect what’s happening emotionally or spiritually. Pay attention to these signals and explore what they might be telling you.

Emotional Symptoms

  • Irritability or frustration

  • Feeling trapped or stuck

  • Overthinking

  • Difficulty staying present

When we resist change, our emotions can act out, pointing us toward what needs attention.

Mental Symptoms

  • Constantly ruminating or imagining worst-case scenarios

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Feeling overwhelmed by decisions

The mind can spiral into worry, making it harder to move forward confidently.

Practical Tools for Navigating Change

Here’s the good news: you don’t have to navigate change alone or unprepared. Here are some tools to help:

Work with the Energy Intentionally

Set intentions and call upon your spiritual support system. Whether it’s God, angels, guides, ancestors, or the universe, ask for help in accessing the courage and clarity you need to embrace change.

Practice Self-Care

Don’t pressure yourself to have it all figured out. Take time to nurture yourself: journal, meditate, take walks, laugh, dance, and rest. Give yourself grace as you navigate this transition.

Challenge Worst-Case Scenarios

Write down or say out loud the fears running through your head. Seeing or hearing them can help you realize how unlikely or irrational they are. It’s amazing how much clarity this simple exercise can bring.

Explore Alternative Modalities

Sometimes, we need deeper healing than traditional approaches can provide. Consider modalities like Reiki, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), EMDR, hypnotherapy, or energy healing. These can help you release blocks and move forward more freely.

Use Mantras and Affirmations

Reframe your thoughts by repeating phrases like:

  • “I am safe.”

  • “I trust myself.”

  • “I am supported and guided.”

Flooding your mind with positive, calming thoughts can stop spirals of fear.

Remember Your Strength

Remind yourself of all the challenges you’ve faced and overcome. You’ve grown, shifted, and evolved countless times. You’re stronger than you realize, and you can handle this too.

Work with Me

As a healer, I specialize in guiding clients through transitions. Together, we can uncover why you’re feeling stuck, clear energetic blocks, and create actionable steps to move you toward your desires. Using tools like astrology, tarot, and energy healing, we’ll find clarity and alignment.

Change may be uncomfortable, but it’s also the doorway to growth, joy, and expansion. Trust that you’re being guided and know that you have the strength to navigate this. Remember, you’ve faced hard things before and come out stronger. Lean into the process, take care of yourself, and trust that the life you desire is already on its way.

You’ve got this — and you’re not alone.

Much love to you :) Robin
